Crowns

What is a crown?

A dental crown is a custom ‘cap’ that fully covers the surface of a tooth, used to restore and protect a heavily damaged or decayed tooth. Our in-house crowns can be made with either E-max or Zirconia ceramic and are designed to function just like a normal tooth, so you can eat, speak and smile with confidence.

Is a crown right for me?

Crowns are a versatile and effective solution for a range of dental issues, offering both functional and cosmetic benefits. You may want to consider having a crown restoration if you have:

  • Large cavities that a filling cannot adequately restore – a crown is much stronger than a filling.
  • Broken, fractured or severely worn-down teeth to restore shape and functionality.
  • After root canal therapy which can leave the tooth brittle and prone to fractures in the future.
  • Severe tooth decay: by covering the tooth with a crown you can salvage and protect remaining, healthy tooth structure.
  • Crowns are also used to surround dental implants
Pricing

Prices of crowns will vary depending on the type of crown chosen and any treatment required prior to the crown being placed. As we are able to offer in-house, single day crown services, we pride ourselves on being able to provide our services that are more convenient and affordable for our patients without compromising on quality.

Hybrid Crowns starting at $650
Monolithic EMAX starting at $1299
Zirconia, PFM and Pressed Emax starting at $1450 -$1550

Most crowns made in one day on site in the same appointment.

E-max crowns are a type of all-ceramic crown known for their superior aesthetics and strength.  They are highly translucent and can closely match the natural color of your teeth, making them ideal for font teeth or other visible areas.

Zirconia crowns are also ceramic but are known for their exceptional strength and durability. As one of the strongest materials used in dental restorations, they are ideal for back teeth that endure a lot of chewing and force. They are also highly resistant to fractures and wear, making them long-lasting and suitable for patients who grind their teeth.

All options can be discussed at a consultation with our dentists prior to your crown appointment to determine the best treatment plan based on your specific dental needs.

We are dedicated to providing comfortable and effective crown treatments to help you maintain a healthy and beautiful smile. Contact us today to learn more or schedule an appointment.

Bridges

Dental bridges are an effective solution for replacing one or more missing teeth, providing both aesthetic and functional benefits.

What is a bridge?

Dental bridges are fixed prosthetics (artificial teeth) that “bridge” the gap created by one or more missing teeth. They are a fixed solution, permanently anchored in place by cementing them to supportive, healthy adjacent teeth or crowned adjacent teeth. Unlike dentures, they cannot be freely removed and look very natural blending in with existing teeth.

Types of Bridges

  • Traditional Bridge: a traditional bridge consists of a false tooth, or teeth being held in place by dental crowns that have been placed onto each of the abutment (adjacent) teeth. It is the most popular type of bridge and can be used when you have natural teeth on both sides of the gap.
  • Cantilever Bridge: Similar to a traditional bridge, a cantilever bridge is a good option if there is only one tooth or crown suitable for anchoring as it needs only one natural tooth next to the gap to be placed. The artificial tooth/teeth is cemented to a single tooth or crown next to the gap.
  • Implant-Supported Bridges: these are anchored by dental implants rather than natural teeth, providing excellent stability and support.

What is the Process?

  • An initial consultation to examine your mouth, discuss your needs and determine if a dental bridge is the right solution for you.
  • With the help of one of the best digital scanning technologies in dentistry, we will 3D scan your mouth to make precise impressions of your teeth and gums creating a custom bridge that fits perfectly.
  • Preparation on the existing teeth may be needed and include removing a portion of enamel to make room for the crown(s) that will anchor the bridge in place.
  • Once your custom bridge is ready it is carefully fitted and adjusted for comfort and functionality, then permanently cemented in place.
